When Excitement Turns Into Anxiety, That Strange Feeling Before a Trip
Everything is packed. The trip is planned. You've been looking forward to it for weeks, maybe even months.
And then – the day before departure – it hits you. That feeling.
Suddenly, you don't want to go anymore. Your heart races, your thoughts spiral: What if it's not great? What if I don't enjoy it? Maybe I should just stay home…
Shit. That feeling.
But you know what? It's completely normal. So many people feel the same way – even those who love to travel. It's that mix of excitement, uncertainty, and stepping away from what's safe and familiar.
For me, I push through it. I know that once I go, it fades. When I'm finally on my way or have arrived, I remember exactly why I love to travel. I get to experience new things, grow, feel free – and almost always end up having an amazing trip.
But if it really becomes an absolute stop, it's perfectly fine to go home. There's no shame in that.
The point is that you try. Every time you push past that feeling and actually go, you take one step further.
And remember – it's always possible to buy a flight home if it truly doesn't feel right.
The most important thing is to give yourself the chance. You deserve to experience the world, even if your stomach twists a little before you go.
