🛍️ Roadtrip Norway – Sweden: Shopping Trip with My Little Sister

In 2023, I went on a 6-day road trip with my youngest sister, Mathilde. The goal of the trip was simple: to visit two major shopping centers in Sweden, Nordby and Charlottenberg. It turned out to be a cozy mix of shopping, hotel stays, and a little exploring of the surrounding areas.
First Stop: Nordby
We started at Nordby Shopping Center, where we checked into Nordby Hotel and stayed for two nights. The room was large and comfortable, but the lock on the balcony door didn't work properly, so there was a bit of a draft. Otherwise, the hotel was nice, and it was possible to sit outside on the balcony.
Price: 2 nights at a 3-star hotel for 1 adult and 1 child cost 2,690 SEK, including breakfast.
Breakfast was good, I enjoyed eggs and bacon every morning. Parking was free and right outside the hotel, which was very convenient.
Tips:
-
Nordby is perfect if you want a short getaway that combines shopping with an overnight stay.
-
Free parking is a big plus when traveling by car.
-
Always check windows and balcony doors, a draft can make the room colder.
Next Stop: Charlottenberg
After Nordby, we continued on to Charlottenberg. We arrived a bit early for check-in, so we left our things in the car and headed straight to the shopping center first.
We stayed at a lovely 4-star hotel for three nights. The room was spacious and clean, and breakfast was another highlight, this time with eggs, bacon, and pancakes. Parking was also free right outside the hotel.
Price: 3 nights for 1 adult and 1 child with breakfast included cost 4,050 SEK.
Tips:
-
Charlottenberg is a great choice if you want to combine shopping with a slightly more luxurious stay.
-
Take a short walk around the area, even though shopping is the main focus, it's nice to see more than just the mall.
Summary
All in all, this was a cozy road trip with my sister, where we combined shopping, relaxation, and small walks to get to know the areas a little better. Perfect for a short trip without having to travel too far.
🛍️ My best tips for a shopping road trip to Sweden:
-
Plan how many nights you want in each place, it can be fun to combine different centers and towns.
-
Breakfast included in the hotel saves both time and money.
-
Free parking is essential when traveling by car.
-
Remember that shopping can be tiring, set aside time to relax at the hotel too.
