A Magical Day at the Harry Potter Studio Tour with Julie

Hi everyone!
One of the highlights of our trip to London was visiting the Warner Bros. Studio Tour, The Making of Harry Potter. As Harry Potter fans, this was an experience we had been looking forward to for a long time, and it definitely lived up to our expectations.
We booked a package that included return transportation from central London, making the day easy and stress-free. The entire experience lasted around 7 hours, including travel time, and cost 4,550 NOK for two people. It wasn't cheap, but for us it was absolutely worth it.
Stepping into the Wizarding World
When we arrived, we were welcomed with a short introductory film explaining how the Harry Potter movies were brought to life. It was fascinating to see how much creativity, planning, and hard work went into creating the magical world seen on screen.
After the introduction, the doors opened to reveal one of the most iconic locations from the films...
The Great Hall at Hogwarts.
Walking through those doors for the first time was a moment I'll never forget.
Exploring the Studios
As we continued through the studios, we saw countless original film sets, costumes, and props.
Some of my favorite areas included:
The Great Hall
Dumbledore's Office
Diagon Alley
Platform 9¾ and the Hogwarts Express
The Forbidden Forest
Privet Drive
The Potions Classroom
Every room had incredible attention to detail, and it was amazing to learn how many practical effects, miniatures, costumes, and handmade props were used throughout the films.
You also get to see how creatures, magical effects, and famous scenes were created behind the scenes, which made me appreciate the movies even more.
Taking Photos
One of the best parts of the tour was that you can take photos almost everywhere.
It was so much fun standing in the actual film sets and recreating scenes from the movies. There are also several interactive experiences where you can try broomstick flying, ride the Hogwarts Express, or walk through iconic locations.
Food and Shopping
The studios are huge, so we took a short break during the visit to rest before continuing.
Before leaving, we spent quite a while exploring the enormous gift shop. There was everything a Harry Potter fan could imagine, wands, house scarves, mugs, clothing, keychains, chocolate frogs, collectibles, and much more.
It would have been very easy to spend far more money than we planned!
My Tips
⚡ Book your tickets well in advance, they often sell out months ahead.
🚍 Consider booking transportation from London if you don't want to worry about trains.
📸 Bring plenty of storage on your phone or camera, you'll want to take lots of photos.
👟 Wear comfortable shoes, as you'll spend several hours walking.
💰 Set a budget before entering the gift shop, it's full of tempting souvenirs.
🥤 Take a short break during the visit, as the studios are much larger than many people expect.
