🎶 Maybe a Best Friend

10/23/2025

Some people we meet only once.

Others stay, no matter how far we travel, or where life takes us.
True friendship isn't about being alike, it's about understanding each other.
It's about safety, trust, and the quiet comfort between people who know they can be themselves.

Friendship is an important part of inclusion.
Because no matter age, background, or challenges, everyone needs someone who stays.
This song lyric is about exactly that.

🎵 Maybe Best Friend

(Based on the poem "Friendship" by Elise)

Verse 1
You can argue, you can laugh,
you can leave, but you always come back.
A friend stands firm when the world turns,
sharing both the joy and what sometimes burns.

Chorus
They lift you up when you fall down,
show you the way when you can't be found.
They hold on tight when things go wrong,
give you faith, make the cold feel warm.
When you dare to trust again,
that's when you know ... maybe a best friend.

Verse 2
They see you when you try to hide,
they're there when your tears won't dry.
They remind you that you still matter,
that you're not alone in this life together.

Chorus
They lift you up when you fall down,
show you the way when you can't be found.
They hold on tight when things go wrong,
give you faith, make the cold feel warm.
When you dare to trust again,
that's when you know ... maybe a best friend.

Bridge
Time goes by, but friendship stays,
through laughter, fights, and tearful days.
Real friends never let you go,
they're the light when darkness grows.

Chorus (final)
They lift you up when you fall down,
show you the way when you can't be found.
They hold on tight when things go wrong,
give you faith, make the cold feel warm.
When you dare to trust again,
that's when you know ...  maybe a best friend.

💛 Reflections After the Lyric

When we travel, whether it's to a new place or into a new stage of life,
the people around us mean everything.
The friends who lift us when we fall, who stay when things get tough,
they make the world a little warmer.

Inclusion isn't only about accessibility.
It's about seeing each other, and choosing to stay.
