A Magical Paris Getaway: Eiffel Tower, Disneyland & Hidden Gems

I went with a good friend to Paris, France. She asked me just a couple of days before if I wanted to join, I said yes, and suddenly we had booked! Two days later we were on our way.
We stayed at Monsieur Cadet Hotel & Spa. I don't have many pictures of the hotel itself, but it was nice, and the receptionists were incredibly friendly. They gave us maps of the area and even marked streets we should avoid at night. Breakfast was included, always served with a little chocolate on the side. We enjoyed hot cocoa and breakfast before heading out for the day.
Food and Restaurants
We like to experience as much as possible when traveling, but also take the time to enjoy good meals. One place I especially remember was Hard Rock Café Paris. The portions were huge! I ordered spareribs and got a massive serving, while my friend ordered a burger that looked three times the size of a McDonald's one.

Tips:
-
Hard Rock Café is a must if you enjoy big portions and American-style food.
-
You'll find smaller, more authentic bistros in the side streets – often cheaper than along the main roads.
-
Keep in mind that the French usually eat dinner late (around 7–9 pm).
Experiences in Paris
We mostly used the metro and walked to get around. We visited many famous landmarks: the Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, and of course the Eiffel Tower.
We took the elevator all the way to the top of the Eiffel Tower, which is 305 meters high (the tower itself is 324 meters tall). My friend is actually afraid of heights, but she managed to come all the way up with me, and even posed for a picture by the edge. On the second floor, there was a glass floor we could stand on. It made my stomach tickle, but it was such a fun experience.
Tips:
-
Book your Eiffel Tower tickets online in advance to avoid long lines.
-
If you dare, try the glass floor on the second floor, both fun and nerve-wracking.
-
Consider visiting in the evening, the view of Paris lit up at night is magical.
Disneyland Paris
We also visited Disneyland Paris. We saw the parade, went on rides, and enjoyed good food. Tickets cost around 664 NOK (approx. €55–60) per person for one day on GetYourGuide.com. We actually bought our tickets at the entrance, but it was a bit confusing to figure out the ticket system once inside.
Tips:
-
Buy your tickets online in advance and download the app, it makes everything easier.
-
Arrive early to make the most of your day.
-
The parade is a highlight, find a good spot a little before it starts.
Summary
This was a lovely and cozy trip with lots of experiences, from sightseeing and shopping to the Eiffel Tower and Disneyland. We also took the time to enjoy good meals and simply be in the moment. Paris really is a city that has everything.
My best Paris tips:
-
Use the metro, it's fast and affordable.
-
Book tickets in advance for the most popular attractions.
-
Mix big sights with quiet moments at cafés or in parks.
-
Be prepared for lots of walking, good shoes are a must!
A trip full of memories, laughter, and experiences I can truly recommend 🌟
